Overview

The Pakistan Resolution was adopted in the summer of 1940 at Greater Iqbal Park, formerly known as Minto Park. There are 13 mediaeval city gates surrounding the park. The park, which is bordered by the Lahore Fort and the Badshahi Mosque and contains the well-known Minar-e-Pakistan, is extremely important historically. The park now encompasses 125 acres after a recent extension and features a lake, library, food court, open-air gym, and an 800-foot-high musical fountain.

The distinct sound of dhol outside a park shrine could catch your notice as you enter the area. Sitting in front of the magnificent dancing fountains is as calming as the first signs of spring. Golf cart rides, a museum dedicated to Pakistani history, and spacious gardens are open for families to relax in while you enjoy your picnics. Despite the numerous attractions, the majority of visitors today are those who were motivated by the anti-colonial and liberation movements and want to visit the actual historical site as well as follow the details and representations in the tower. There is a memorial there to remember this occasion as well as a list of the real 21 signatures, which includes all the well-known politicians. The Greater Iqbal Park also provides tourists with plenty of seats, creative food courts like “The Poet,” and shopping kiosks.
